The Emerald Sea Lagoon… 💎

The trip is planned from 3rd November to the 16th of November, flying from Paris to Diego Suarez in the northern most city of Madagascar (Antsiranana). From there a 2 hour transfer (car and boat) to our final destination… The Emerald Sea Lagoon.

A 12km long lagoon, surrounded by reefs and islets creates the ideal playground for windsurfers and wingfoilers of all levels.

The pricing includes everything - Accommodation, food windsurfing and wingfoiling equipment hire and coaching for the entirety of the trip too! Expect to come home with some pictures that are suitable for your bedroom wall, and some video footage you’ll never be able to take your eyes off!

  • Babaomby Lodge is located on the northern most part of Madagascar. Situated right in the middle of a 12km long, 3km wide Emerald Sea Lagoon.

Cross-onshore winds provide conditions ideal for improvers and advanced sailors alike. In season, winds are like clockwork with around 20 to 30 knots and the season runs from May until the end of November. It ranks in the Windguru top 10 spots for wind… Seems like a no-brainer right?

  • This is aimed at anybody who’s getting comfortable in the harness; So whether you’re looking to get planing for the first time, nail your carve gybes or learn to Vulcan, this is the clinic for you! As much as I can, it’ll be 1-2-1 coaching on the water, as well as some group video analysis in the mornings, and on-land bits as a team before we head out. Having a mixed ability clinic will also allow us to bounce ideas of each other and share our experiences!

This is a windsurfing dominant camp, but we will also have access to wingfoiling equipment should the wind be light for any of the days, and coaching for this is also included!

  • We’ll have full access to the full range at Babaomby Lodge, which is the leading centre in Madagascar, and is stocked with fresh gear from Goya, JP, Neilpryde, Patrik and AHD.

It’s also stocked with the latest wingfoiling gear from F-One which is one of the sports leasing brands.

  • The price is €180/day and we will be there for 12 days (it’s a 14 day trip and two are travelling).

Literally everything. Accommodation, food, gear rental, coaching - You’re covered.

The only things you’ll need to pay on top are the flights and transfer, and then any extracurricular activities…

  • The flights are from Paris - The plan would be to meet on the 3rd of November and all fly down together. It means finding your own way to Paris first.

The safari is based around the flight with Air Austral from Paris (CDG) on the 3rd November, and returning on the 16th of November. Price is about €1,000 with hand luggage included.

The length of the flights varies, but it’ll be about 12/13 hours of travelling in total. the time difference is only 2 hours so don’t worry about Jet lag!

  • It’s vitally important to remember; This is a holiday! It’s not a week long military boot camp (unless you want it to be) so you’re welcome to take as much time off as you’ll need… The windsurfing station caters to all; with SUP’s, areas for chilling and plenty of hikes, and exploring to do!

I know I want to go and visit the lemur’s on one of the days…

  • Check out the refund policy HERE!

  • Harness, sun cream, rashie and maybe a super thin wetsuit if you’re prone to getting cold in the water.

Couple tee’s/bikini’s and a single nice shirt… maybe?

It’s a ‘trip of a lifetime’ kind of thing… 😏

Rather than reading about those magical trips you read about in the 5 year old windsurf mag you’ve got lying in the back of the van still, why not live it? Imagine the looks on your mates faces when you reel that story off in the pub!

Not only that, but you came back finally being able to do that carve gybe, finally got to grips with the footstraps on your smaller board, or managed to go for your first forwards? That’d really be the cherry on the cake 🍒
